Does anybody know of any good fisheries within the city limits? I am not looking something amazing. Just a place to go catch and release a few fish.

Use the search function on the forum. Lotsa info there of surrounding areas and particularly the NSR.
There are a lot of heavily used places to read about along the river in E-town. Almost elbow to elbow sometimes. However if you spend the time and get out and walk the banks theres lotsa spots on the NSR no one uses. Maybe a little harder to get to but worth it.

I was actually wondering that, lol where to fish the NSR when living in edmonton, if anyone is ok with sharing some sweet spots that are easily accessible, I C&R when fishing NSR and i clean up after myself ,pick up my own garbage:) so i wont ruin your honey hole :)

It's hard to get an exact sweet spot rly , the best way to fish the nsr is to do a bit of exploring ! Walk the banks tell u find your own little spots !

In Edmonton you can find nice eddies in the river if you ride a mountain bike on the trails. Its the best way to get a close look at the many bends in the river, scope out sandbars, outfalls etc..
