Fished from 2pm till 6:30, caught 2 and lost 1 coming through hole. Ice is getting scary.

Some large open holes under crust from surface water running into bore holes. Watch for white coloured ice, as it is very thin and hides what is below. Follow existing truck tracks when walking as the surfase is frozen right through. I would not drive on the ice any more this year although it is still thick. One fisherman's dog broke through one of these crusts over a large open hole, about 18" diam. and almost went in.

All the pond conditions are very scary right now, I had a friend go out yesterday and broke through a few places while walking on (luckily it was only a foot of water below the ice) but nonetheless be careful right now everyone, ice is getting weaker by the day now especially when winds are strong, the winds will wipe out ice much quicker. Be safe!

Just stay off the ice at this time of year fellas. You're just tempting fate. :scared:
