Where would I go??:)

Hey all, haven't posted in a long time and just starting to get back into fishing (long story) but I'd like to get out today. I'm in Calgary and was just curious as to where would be a decent spot to try out today??
Thanks in advance

I would say go try the Bow River.... I wouldn't chance ice fishing on most lakes any more this season.

Take a nice walk along the shore and find a spot that looks great. Exploring is the best way to find a good spot.

Fish Creek Park is a good starting place.

Thanks again for the responses. I was just asking for more specifics just to be sure I'm fishing in open waters as I can't afford a fine :D

You should probably get a hold of a copy of the regulations to ensure you know you are fishing in legal waters. I am not trying to sound like a jerk, but it is the responsibility of the individual fishing to know the law and you shouldn't rely on what people on the internet say.

I do have a copy of the regs, but I am extremely useless at reading a map. I was just hoping some one would suggest a decent spot that would be open ( I would of course double check the suggested area in the regs to make sure) .

Downstream of the weir by the zoo all the way to Carsland weir gives you lots to explore

Wasn't it about this time last year where the older fella fell through the ice at Chain? I know I wouldn't risk it myself.

It wasn't me but I was considering it,,, I think best to ignore chain until you can cast a line,, but I'm sure some will still venture out.
