I dont live near Cochrane AB and I have never fished the area.
Am I the only person that finds it weird that Cochrane is currently sitting
in 3rd for the best fishing town in Canada contest? Sure the bow is nice but
better fishing than some of the towns south of Calgary which the bow flows..

I'll second that.

....REALLY??????

One of the worst sections of the Bow for numbers and size. Ghost Dam really puts the hurt on that section of the fishery.

I will agree with both of you. Makes you wonder what the scoring criteria was based on.

I disagree with all of the above. Ghost is the best sturgeon fishery in AB.

Good news for Cochrane. I guess. Good to read that jumpingpound creek has become a stand out in Canada. Wow.

I live out here in cochrane- you'd think having a fly shop/tackle store would be a necessity of a fishing town no?

Wow people, no need to be telling everyone about the Bass and Sturgeon. I have seen lots of places fished out just by telling the forum!

I grew up in Cochran. As much as I love my town, the statement that Cochran is the 3rd best fishing town in Canada is vastly incorrect. We all had a good laugh when we read it in our local paper. I did however pull this sturgeon out of ghost lake.

Ya, that's about average for ghost.

You should see the big ones!
