When is the ice gonna be gone at your lake?

Was at the cottage on Sat, (Hastings lake). Looks like at least another 2 weeks before all the ice will be gone and safe to boat on.. Just bairly starting to melt along the shore. May not be able to boat on some northern lakes the May long. Need lots of sun and warm weather. Hastings should be open the May long. (Just bairly) tho.

I checked the main launch at Alberta Beach yesterday.... ice is receded to about 20m from shore now... the ice that remains looks very rotten.... wont be long before its gone, maybe 10-days to 2 weeks

Was at Pigeon yesterday. I had 5 ft of water only and the remaining ice looked pretty solid. Unless there is favourable weather I am going to guess May 21st

Realize the lake is shallower than almost all other big lakes but Chip Lake is busting up real nice. Can see it daily now as more and more open water is prevalent.

I was quading on baptiste 2 nights ago. Drilled a hole and there 25" of solid ice. Hasn't even left shoreline yet!

You should be safe with June 1rst.

Well, didn't I put my foot in my mouth. I didn't read the reg's for Wabamun yet.How about East Pit, I know Its Legal. Will it winter kill? Still be frozen?

i have hit star when 2/3 of the lake was covered when i showed up; by the time i left that day, virtually the entire lake was open. the melt goes from the bottom up and is pretty impressive. sun goes through the ice, gets magnified by water on ice and clear portions of ice - heats the water underneath and presto!!

Last year no body believed me when I said will fish the may 15 and the ice was gone on may 12. if the weather stay over 20 for the rest of may and and it rain with good wind we"ll fish the long week-end for sure and I booked a site on shore of cold lake as well. will be really upset if I have to look at a frozen lake lolll I really do not think so.
