the last couple weeks iv'e felt a little bad about about the fish we"ve been catching cause as soon as you land them there immediatly covered in mud or dead grass and leaves before you can remove the hook , never mind a pic. Found an old baby bath tub (tublet?) and brought it out tonight. took all night to finally chistian the tublet and wouldn't you know, it was a baby wallie. he stayed clean and wet during hook removal and went wee wee wee all the way home.

yes i know about cradles but not viable in these conditions (can't get close to shore)

Sweet idea! I always found it hard to get a decent pic there due to the mud that sticks like glue to the fish.

Great idea....if only more people were concerned with how they handled fish they caught and planned on/had to release.

Awesome job.
Keeping the fish out of the mud is a very good thing to do. As part of the sturgeon recovery team for Alberta, one of our biggest concerns about sturgeon as well as other river fish was mortality from handling the fish on a muddy shore bank along the river. One of the worst things that can happen to a fish is to be rolled in river silt. It really sticks to their eyes and gills and can do some real damage.

Your idea is golden! Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
SH

Great idea Ninja, just be careful someone doesn't think your littering, while it's sitting on the bank. lol:)
