Just found out that the South Side Campground is going to be closed for the year due to construction. I have been told that there is another boat launch about a mile or so before the South Side Campground. Does anyone know if you can launch larger boats (ie: 18' ski boat) from this launch?

I have never used it to put my 19 footer in but i have seen guys putting in rather large boats from there. No parking is the problem. That and it was so cheap to use the one at the camp ground that i never though of going the free route. Plus at the camp ground they took your name and number and came looking for you if your boat broke down and you didnt make it off the lake.

Anyone else tried to use this launch?

You should be fine, i have seen lots of ski and fishing boats launched from there. Take note there is no dock to walk out on so you will need lots of bow line.

We launch my bro's 18' riverboat there no issues but we are comparing apples to oranges when it comes to boats.
