I'd like to take a drive east towards Elk Point to try my luck for sturgeon. Problem is, I've never been up that way fishing and have no idea where to begin. If anyone could help me out as to where would be a good place to try it would be greatly appreciated. This won't be a frequent trip for me, just something I'd like to try out. You can shoot me a pm if you'd like.

Thanks in advance.

PS, does anyone know why they call it Elk Point? As far as I know it's not considered a hot spot for elk hunting.

X2..... Im heading there today for the weekend..... I just picked a town along the nsr and decided i would try elk point....(the town is right on the river so when fishing is done.... The bar and hotel are close by.... Lol.) wondering if there is a decent hole close by or at the town part of the river.....

Pick a spot that isn't too secluded....and lock your vehicle and clear out your valuables :)
