Just wondering if anyone has fished in Montana and brought fish back across into Canada ? I looked everywhere on the internet but couldnt find anything about fish caught and brought back across the line, We are headed to Flathead lake for lake trout so have to know before we head down there, I even called the border and they couldnt even give me a answer?.If anyone has fished down there can you let me know. and if there is anything else I should know about before we leave, headed there 21st of June. Thanks

Never had a problem, never been asked to show a license or the fish

Thought you were not allowed to bring meat or produce back threw the border?

Fish is not the same as beef or pork.

Fished Duck lake and Flat Head for years and never once had an issue with bringing back fish.

We've fished Lake Mary Ronan just west of the Flathead for Kokanee the last 25 years and the biggest thing is "Don't fillet your fish until you get them home."

We always used to fillet the Kokanee but were stopped and our camper freezer checked. They let us off (dumb Canucks!) you have to just gut them and must leave the head on.
