2013 walleye tags are FILLED!!!!

had the day off yesterday so went walleye hunting with a work buddy.
made it to alberta beach late morning and it was windy and rough.
searched for a few hours with no bites. super slow.
finally found fish off a wind blown point.
and they were there in numbers and super aggressive!!!!
for a good long spell we couldn't count to 5 with the hook on bottom before it got slammed!!!!!
great fun!!! classic spring walleye action!!!!
in half a day we landed around 50-60 fish with the majority coming in a 2 hr window of crazy action!!!!
no hogs but we filled our 43-50 tags easy and released dozens in the 50-55 range.
good healthy chunky dark fish!! strong fighters!!!
now to bbq!!!!!

When you find the fish, St Anne can be alot of fun. Did you catch any pike at all? Last time out, we were doing probably 40 walleye to 1 pike and the pike were fairly small.

congrats on filling your tags. i have tags for the same lake but will probably wait for ice fishing season.

yeah, we got 2 pike for about 50-60 eyes...
last year we found some good pike tho. many in the 5-7lb range.
we found a few spots where we'd get several good pike each trip.
good to see them coming back. a few years back we'd see zero.
now if only the perch would rebound....

yup. still here. work's going mental cuz it's construction based and it's spring.
sadly very little fishing.....
