So This weeks vacation to the cabin sort of got nuked by a change in school schedule. So I figure we need to try something new. but can I get it done in one trip or two.

Being based in Calgary, I figure "The forks" sounds like the closed for sturgeon I think I heard of goldeye being there, but if not I was thinking to head out to the Reddeer area for goldeye.

What do you think. and what are the usual access points for those areas

Take a look on google earth or google maps.

The forks is directly north of grassy lake.

The Forks is good for sturgeon and goldeye both but there are closer places if you mainly want to smash some goldeye. I have done well for goldeye in the Bow River below Bassano Dam. As well, there are tons of goldeye in the Red Deer River right in Drumheller and also at Finnegan Ferry.
