Yes sorry for the poor picture there is a lot of mud on her, as to why no weight was taken, I was in a bad spot after a long fight and more concerned about getting her back as it was hot out, please don't take any offence people who guessed 7-8lbs but I have caught lots of 7-8lb walleye that this big girl dwarfed, tried to hold fish as close to my body to give a better thought to the actual size, thank you for your estimates after talking to fish and wildlife and taking into account size of my hands and other pics I have a good idea

I would guess the same . 8 to 9 lb . Hold it closer to the camera and call it ten LOL
if you only have a measuring tape this will get you very close, make sure to measure the girth at the widest point. This only works for walleye
length * girth * girth / 800

Well folks this walleye was 34-36inches based on the length to weight it's ridiculous, I won't post the weight based upon the length to weight scale, she was caught in the spring and was very fat, everything is speculation so I will call it 1 pound, thank you everyone for your insight

I have a picture if fish beside my rod and pic of rod with measuring tape beside it if you want the pics pm your email and ill send them, as well ill let anyone know when where and how I caught this fish, I've pulled quite a few monsters out of this spot, it is very small window that the big walleye are there and it doesn't ever disappoint, I don't believe in secret spots or secret information, anglers should help each other out, what's working where and how, the one thing that disappoints me about this forum is it often because a contest or judgment forum, a good example of good is muskies Canada, they promote conservation and educate each other, keep logs on fish caught and constantly share information, IMO that is what this forum should become but that's my own personal option

Trouble with holding fish out to the camera, very hard to judge, most times it looks far larger than it is. I punched some numbers in based on hand width, I was surprised at the results, I will say it's larger than I had thought. That is not a definitive answer, just my impression. For an honest appraisal on fish it needs to be held next to your body, next to a tape, obviously the best. Based on 5'' for your gloved hand the fish is over 31", I suspect I'm being conservative on the 5" for the gloved hand which would make the fish larger, so a very good fish. Congrats.

Thought about a long response to this but changed my mind, musky's is a whole different fishery than walleye.

My point I think was missed, I wasn't talking just walleye I was talking angling in general, but your muskies are way different, they are way more difficult to catch, more expensive to fish for, and require a lot of time lnowledge and luck, if that group of anglers are willing to work together and share information why wouldn't anyone else? Very rare does it become a competition it is more like great fish, this is out of tournament of course. Just explaining my point I tried to make.

I mean no offence, but you asked for others opinions on what they figure you fish weighed. If you don't want someone's guess, or get offended by someone saying your fish is smaller than what you believe it to be, just post a pic of a "nice" fish without asking others opinion, and I'm sure you'll get nothing but compliments. I would guess your fish at +\-28" and about 7-8lbs, that's what I see in that pic anyway. Either way it's a nice fish, congrats.

Options are welcome just didn't want multiple posts or arguing don't care what people's guess came in at, it's what I wanted, a guess, I'm glad the thread gained so much interest, someone could have guessed 3lb and I wouldn't be offended, also was looking for compliments on what I already know what was a good fish, but compliments appreciated, I just wanted neutral responses, that is why I said estimate the weight, not please tell me it's a good and what I wanted, thanks for the advice though and thanks for your estimate
