Marcum lx 7 in open water

Bought my lx7 this past winter and it worked awseome on the hard water, and noticed it has an open water function. Wondering if anyone uses or has used it and if it's worth to bring in the boat. Any info would be awesome!

i have used mine in my inflateable boat and it worked good . i tapped the transponder to a flat stick ( survey slat ) and then clamped the stick to the transom with a c-clamp so i could follow the bottom while trolling .

I am waiting for the Fishing Hole to get the transducers in. I think it will be great off the bowmount.
