Attention Fisherman : RE BASSANO DAM due to unstable hillsides caused by recent flooding the area surrounding the Bassano Dam is closed to the public.Please do not attempt to access the shoreline below the dam .Rod Svenson Safety & Enviro Tech ,Eastern Irrigation District

Any idea on how long they expect this to last? Makes sense though if the water rose high enough. The steep banks on the east side are pretty sandy and they would be pretty vulnerable in a violent flood.

no public access signs are up and they probably will be left up for the rest of the year, the bank where people fish at along the shore is about 30 ft back it is all washed away very unsafe and stable ,the shore where you would stand on to fish is also gone .

HAHA. So true. I have seen entire families that needed wheelbarrows to carry out their suckers up the hill beside the dam. It is ridiculous. They also left lots of garbage which is bad and now all that garbage is probably somewhere in Manitoba.
