My understanding is no. I would expect the canmore access to be the first to open.

Anybody attempt to head up to Spray this weekend with the reopening of highway 1?

I am interested too. I want to head up to Chester Lake next weekend and catch some cutties and maybe a dolly or two.

Even if Hwy 1 is open, the road up to spray lakes received heavy damage, including many washouts.
In my opinion it'll be a while before it's fixed as it's not really a priority

I have heard chester lake no longer exists. The heavy rain combine with snow melt washed it away

I find it hard to believe that a natural lake which has existed for several thousand years would be washed away by a rainstorm and snow melt.
Perhaps who ever told you that is trying to divert people away from the lake?

Probaly a month or longer before they open Spray lake road, it was washed out in many many places.

I would have to disagree with this. There is no way a lake like that could be washed away unless the entire mountainside collapsed in on it. It is fairly deep on one side and it isn't a dam holding the water back. I agree that the outlet creek is probably very different as a result of the increased flow and the banks might be different because of erosion but if anything, it will mean exploring different parts of the lake.

Dunno 'bout the lake, but the parking lot was annihilated.
