I'm heading out to Slave this week coming and it'll be the first time I'll be fishing it. I'm hoping to get some advice on fishing tips and hopefully a couple spots to try, preferably on the east end as I will be driving there from my cabin, which is about an hour southeast of the town of Slave Lake. Any tips would be appreciated.

Out in front of the main beach, or right around dog island there will be plenty of walleye for you to catch!

Around dog island in about 10 ft. Same depth in front of the provincial park. Just look for the boats. Jig and minnows or bottom bouncer with spinners minnow or leech are good choices.

Was just there last weekend, all i gotta say is follow the boats... Thats allw we did and caught a ton of fish... jigs with minnows or leeches and did well with bottom bouncers and Lindy rigs when we wanted to move around a little bit

Good luck and have fun

Thanks for the tips guys, I'm headed there in the morning. I got 3 tubs of minnows at my house, problem is I'm at my cabin😡 I hope I can pick some up in slave lake.

If you can't find any minnows, which I doubt you will not find any, use power bait gulp that look like minnows. Work just as good there, if not better on a bottom bouncer with spinner.

As a kid we always had luck trolling in front of Devonshire in about 12-18' of water with a silver/black rattlin rap. To the east of North Shore park is a good spot too, we used to chase schools of walleye around up there, I'd sight em off the bow and direct dad to where they were heading, was pretty cool. North side of Dog Island was where I saw the biggest pike I ever seen in Slave was caught. Have fun, it's going to be a beautiful weekend.
