Buffalo Lake ice conditions

Was out to Buffalo Lake this morning. Ice is good offshore( 2 feet of solid ice). Soft or open around the edges, wouldn't recommend it with a vehicle. We broke through with the quad coming off in the afternoon, but it was only about a foot deep. Fishing was completely dead. I don't think a strong wind blowing helped matters much, as we don't usually have our best days when she's blowing. Fishing has been very good for the past 6 weeks or so since we started going though. Time to put the auger away and start hammering on the gophers!
