Decided to bring my lifelong buddy who has never been fishing on a boat before. 4am wake up call, got to the lake at about 5:15am to snap this absolutely wonderful picture of my baby. :sHa_shakeshout:

Slayed the pike all day, 31 for me, 25 for him from 5:30 am to 1 pm. All caught on rattling rapalas too. He had a helluva blast.

First fish out of the boat for him.

Later on in the afternoon he hooked into this little guy,

Then he finally got a decent 7lber for his enjoyment.

Unfortunately nothing of any size, just plenty plenty fish. Lotsa double headers, and tons of fun. Busier than sin though, but none the less a good day on the water.

Got the dads boat up to 37kms too, little 14ft 25 horse tiller.

Launch was an absolute gong show...

People launching their house boats on the canoe side at the provincial... :argue2:

Was a joke, but it takes 2 mins to unload this guy, and 2 mins to load him up so no worries. :)

Was busy in town too. Had to park in overflow (got a late start), had to wait to launch, wait to get onto a dock to get my truck then wait in line to load it up.

A little entertainment watching guys high power thrust onto their trailers instead of going another 3" deeper. Great for the motor, bunks, winch and gravel at the launch.

Remind me never to buy a boat from this guy.

I hope there is a module in the next version of the boater's exam telling guys it's ok to get their tires wet. lol.

Went out with Diabetic Cripple this afternoon - told him once to coast onto the trailer (after I backed in) and we were hooked up and out of the way in less than 60 seconds. The kid slid her on the trailer like a pro and, to boot, caught bigger fish that I did today !!!!

Lots of boats at Fallis - never seen anything like that before - lake was rough due to massive boat traffic.

Storm chased us off the lake - it started to sprinkle just as I pulled out of the parking lot traffic jam.

The funny thing about Fallis too, it didn't even produce anything at all...

It never has produced anything bigger than 2lb jack for me. I don't know why...

But yeah, loading up was a complete gong show with all the houseboaters, power boaters, and idiot people who don't know how to back up a trailer and drive a boat nice and snugly onto a trailer then winch it on....

Seriously never been more frustrated in my life after seeing a group of yahoos take 40 minutes to launch a car topper.

oh yeah ........ lost my rod too ........ had it on the back deck, with the lure in the water, as i decided to drive away ...........

so .......... if anyone catches my St.Croix casting rod and Abu Garcia bait caster attached ..... I have a $5 reward for you.

It can be identified by the the little Ernie crank bait (pike pattern) still attached.

Other than that, and the boat launch - pretty good day.

Where about at did u loose it, how deep were you when u fell in. See how this down imagining really works. If you knew where at exactly I could have taken my underwater camera out and tried to retrieve it.

I was the same till a few weeks ago nothing special over there but there are some sweet drop offs out in that area if you can find them it's really worth it. I have them marked in my GPS but don't know how to share but there are a few around half km or more out goes from 24 feet to 6 in a few boat lengths and its only the size of a house produces a nice pike every time we trolled over it last few times out. I got to feel what a 15 pounder felt like and leave me wanting bigger :)

That's the thing, trolled over a ton of those spots, nothing.

Best luck I have had is in front of he reservation and iron head, pulled a 19 lb 8 oz outta there last year. Fallis has never worked for me. :(

But exactly like EZM said, great day, but the boat launch... Good thing I left when I did though :P

I have my path marked (way-points) and can get to a 30-40 yard stretch (times the boat width) where it is sitting on bottom. it was right along the drop off - so it could be down 7 ft or down 25 feet.

If the water is clear enough - it would be easy to spot with a camera (I think).

That might be a tough salvage hunt ....... not sure where to begin or weather its worth it.

Good news is I learned a $500 lesson ........

Would be fun though - kind of like salvage hunting. PM me if you want to go out and try ....lol .......... I will bring the boat and plenty of cool drinks.

Probably end up fishing anyways after giving up the search. lol.

Hey thanks for sharing . I just got this app on my phone checking it out
Strange though it does not display calling lake neither rock island lake.
Maybe I need an update . Are these two lakes showing on your phone?

GONG SHOW to say the least. I had never launched there before and was unaware of the canoe launch only even though it is clearly marked (My bad, sorry guys) but I only took 60 seconds to launch. I'll know better for next time.

Buddy and I caught 11 outside of Moonlight past the trestle on the west side between moonlight and Wabamun town biggest being about 4 lbs. The storm on Saturday chased us off and about 50 other boats so it was chaos again at the launch. No thanks to buddy who beached his boat blocking of half of the left side approach.

All in all a great weekend though.
