New trout eating perch photos and one smaller perch munching down a lake chub.
They are getting better and better trained every day. :sHa_shakeshout:
One attack even left a rainbow!

Are they starting to eat the spined ones?

Maybe young of the year. These ones are 2-3 year olds stunters. 3-5 inches. Too big and they won't touch em. 5 inch is on the big side.

Check out 1:28 mark. Watch how agile the trout is when turning on the perch.

On a completely unrelated note: can somebody tie me a 3-inch floating perch fly?

Why don't you try de-spining a few and throwing them in, then throw a spined one in and see what happens.

I did. That is what got me started. A spiny one gets the trout to bite it...but then it looks like it has a coughing fit under water and spits it out. Repeat 2 or 3 more times then it drops it and swims away.
