Wow! nice fish! :scared0015: That's so cool that you caught a potential record breaking walleye. Just goes to show how many record breaking fish are caught and released each year, and then afterwards you realize it was a record. lol
If you got a picture with the weight, or even with the length, and you had a witness, you might be able to register it for a record still, not to sure the rules on it....

Alberta walleye record is 15.50 lbs, if you did indeed land an 18lber you absolutley destroyed the Alberta record. Congrats! Knowing or not knowing that is a record fish you would know a fish like that is definitely beyond picture worthy!! I would love to see the pic!

Cheers!

Great for posting pics. Not to discredit you but that pike isnt 27 nor is that pickeral just shy of 10. I was at llb this past weekend and we caught 40 walleye. Average was 4lbs largest shy of 6. Unreal fishery. Glad you slayed them.

regardless if that walleye is 12lb or 20, that's a true trophy fish! thats what this forum's all about. It's crazy how they've stocked it with so many walleye, but you can't keep any.....
Anyway, congratulations on a lifetime fish :D

Besides the size of these fish being suspicious (still nice fish) there is another thing worth mentioning here. Other threads on here talk about proper handling of fish to make sure we all do our part to reduce fish mortality. Weighing every fish that comes to your boat is not good fish handling for fish being released. And particularily weighing them twice with two scales. Maybe for the "potential record book" walleye, i could see it, but not every fish. My two cents.

Still sounds like a great trip and some nice fish.

Another Picture poster ruined for life! Congrats guys

I wasnt trying to ruin a picture poster. Thought the pictures were great. I do believe the 18lb walleye is suspicious, but i was trying to educate some young fisherman on proper fish handling to reduce fish mortality. He says he wants the lake conserved, so he released the "18lb'er" withouth a picture because it was bleeding. Well, i'm sorry, but maybe he should not have stuck two different scales through it's gills to weigh it. And then tell us there was no time to get a picture because it was bleeding????? Had time to weigh it twice.

Absolutely!! Back in the heyday of Calling Lake, I witnessed with my own eyes a 38 inch x 15 lb + walleye caught in 5 FOW on the last day of fishing by a gal that was no taller than 5 feet tall, took her a long time to land that fish, I do have a pic laying around somewhere of that fish, was amazing to see that.

Not very long ago the locals would throw their nose up at llb lake and go fish surrounding lakes...... Now, those same locals can be seen launching at the boat launch. Kinda says something about the lake....

Remember how you feel Zach, and how you look to all of us, between members and lurkers, tens of thousands of people will now know you are a liar. It will be hard if not impossible for you to post on this forum and be taken serious ever again.
