View Full Version : Any body have a secret recipe for curing anchovies?

Just wondering if any one has a proven formula for preparing their bait, either herring or anchovy? I personally use pickling salt and powder milk and make a brine to soak for a day or so.

Anybody else do anything different?

Kosher Salt, Canned Evaporated Milk and a touch of Mrs. Stewarts Blueing. Firms them up and makes them shine. Oh and keep them as cool as you can.
