I am looking for a good wild game butcher/processor within an hour of the Red Deer area. Was planning to take a moose there if I strike it lucky. Anybody have any good recommendations.

There is a wild game butcher in crossfield. His name is Jim Gardener just a thought.

I have used the guy at Savory Meats in Sundre a few times now. Makes good sausage and jerky. He is a tad on the expensive side, though......

Vern at Savory Meats in Sundre is a good guy....and does a good job for sure. Also have had some stuff done by the guys at Rocky Mtn House but not sure of their name.....

When you get up in the morning take a look in the mirror, staring back at you is the best butcher in the country.:)

Kerick's meats in Olds (I think I spelled it right) . I live in Fort Mac and take all my stuff to him. Try his cheese smokies. Damn good.

I'd avoid that place at all costs.:D The name keeps changing, but the same guy still answers the phone, who has the dubious distinction of once being charged for trying to pass beef of as Bison. I should have known better from previous experience but I was short on time, so I took my Mulie there last year. At least, this time they flavored the jerky, but the pepperoni was vacuum packed soggy wet. Still trying to figure out how to make it palatable.
I've had good experience with YB Meats west of Penhold. Swiss couple, make excellent european sausage.

I will continue to go to butchers corner in Beaumont. The guy is awesome. He did all my garlic sausage for me last year for my whitetail(amazingly good) and when we ran into a jam with 300 plus pounds of salmon a couple of weeks ago, he steaked, filleted and smoked (vacuum packed is what i really needed) for 65 bucks. The guy is fast, helpful and awesome to deal with. I hope i didn't just slow my deer down by telling you guys about him though. Good luck and good hunting.
