was little surprise, I plan to buy motor for my canoe, I think to buy 55lb. if you run at different power level, is it still feel too much power?

Mount it in front of your self on the side rail , lock it in a straight position, use paddle as rudder..... Life is grand no awkward reach around..:thinking-006: don't use it to direct the boat, That much lever under the keel can be exciting.

you dont need any more than a 30,i have aluminum canoe light mine ,to heavy and to long shaft , to hard to position shorter and lighter works better

An electric motor that has too much power? That sounds pretty goofy

I put a 55 lb on my canoe and have had no problems. I use it to steer and I use it at full power. I only come close to tipping when I turn hard full throttle.

Ha Ha, shows what I know about motors...and fish I guess.
I thought this thread title was some exotic rare fish caught called a mini kota. hah!:snapoutofit:

The thrust on that motor is probably heavier than his aluminum canoe and it's probably a long shaft motor to boot.
Sounds like a deal to me, I know they retail for about $220.00.
I already have an electric, so I won't be buying, sorry.
