Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knows a nice place to camp near Duck Lake, as i heard there is nowhere to camp directly on Duck Lake...Is there crown land sites on the south end of Kootenay? Thanks for any input.

Was thinking of doing the same thing in a few weeks...how is the Bass fishing in the summer months at Duck lake? I know how to catch the rainbows and bulls in Kootney but the Bass not so much!

Thanks for the input!...I was looking more to just set up camp with my tent somewhere, preferably on either duck lake or kootenay lake....cheers

fishing is good but you have to work for it.. bring a bug spray it gets horrible. we had great luck in april with top water frogs and spinner baits.

oddly enough this last time most fish where caught out away from shore.. just cast and retrieve fast with the spinner baits...

cant stress enough on the bug spray as well as a mosquito net type hoodie thing.. i got one at gas station just outside of creston it was a life saver. i wouldnt have lasted without it last august.

Thanks for the links! I was hoping more to find a spot to camp on the water...I think I might just head there early and try to find a site on the water, and if I can't find one, I'll probably grab one of these sites in Creston as a back up plan.

you might want to find out if camping on shore is even allowed. The main entrance to the lake has barely any room to set up a spot..

I'm pretty sure there is no shore camping on Duck Lake. I was talking about trying to see if there is any shore camping on Kootenay Lake.
