Taking kids fishing - Brazeau Res. Area

Taking the kids fishin this weekend, wondering if anyone has recommendations for the Brazeau Res. area (doesn't have to be at the reservoir, can be in the vicinity). Can shore fish or canoe.

If you fish where the gates come out of the res into the canal,use smelts and bobbers and you should have good luck for pike.There is some really good ling fishing there as well,lay a smelt on the bottom and watch your rod tip for a bite.There is also a good trout pond along the power house road,closer to the east end.Good luck!!
