76278Decided to hit the lake for an evening fish tonight with my wife . Pretty choppy out there with 20km winds but decided to launch. After I parked the truck and walked back to the dock, I hopped in the boat to the smell of somthing burning!...........opened the battery storage compartment and found my minkota battery on fire. One of the bottom bouncers that I put in there (woops) must have shorted to ground and heated up the plastic casing on the battery causing it to burn. Luckily all it took to put out was a quick blow. After about 15mins of dismantling I removed the battery and we set out into the high seas. Out for 3 hrs managed about 10 pike! With this one being the biggest. Weighed in at 11 pounds. Didn't get a length measurement. All in all a great night of fishing to bad I have to replace my minkota battery but I guess it could have been a lot worse.
