Looking at buying an outboard for a 14' alum boat. Looking for suggestions. Have looked at yamaha 2-stoke and 4-stroke 25-hp. 2stroke PROS:Lightweight,$1000.00 less than 4stroke,Smaller in size.CONS:noise, oil fuel mix(100:1) 4-stroke PROS: clean burning and quit.CONS: heavy. large in size, $1000.00 more in price.thanks.

I'm shopping for that exact motor right now, a 25 hp short shaft. I've owned a lot of different 9.9 and 15 hp in both 2 and 4 stroke. The 4 stroke is good on gas and there is the no mixing and less smell. Personally I want a 2 stroke, I don't think the weight and extra bucks are worth it.
Can I ask what is the best price have you got and where?
