so i figured if petew's 5 year old grand daughter can put her own fletches on , so can i. think i did an ok job and you guys were right , wasn't that difficult.
question.... what do most of you guys use as fletches? i put 2 black and 1 yellow rubber #4s. is there a popular fletch that most prefer? (like ugly stik rods in the anglers world). not looking for most expensive or exotic, just a reliable fletch. thanks.

Im rockin the Fusion 2.1's this year in all white. Might try the Zeon Fusions next year... apparently they are super visible in flight. They are SUPER tough - never had one come off, and stand up to the WB ;)

:D it can depend on what rest and conditions one hunts with, many of us here either use the Balzer or Dravane Savage four inch vanes, the Savage vanes are a little stiffer and durable for rests like the Ugly Cookie [WB]

We also have a lot of wind and in our tests the four inch are a little more stable at longer distances that we have to shoot in wide open areas,

Having said that I would have to say Blazers are the most popular vane hands down, the ingenous bowhunter that invented or designed the Blazer is a good friend of mine, and I know why he devolped that design and it makes sence.

no question the blazer is the most common. them zeon fusions are a copycat in design and do add some visibility to the arrow in flight. they aren't as bright as lighted nocks, but for those that refuse to add weight to the nock end of their arrows, they are an option.

My favorite right now is the Starrflight FOB STARRFLIGHT (http://www.starrflight.com/)....

But I have used Zeon Fuzions in the past and like those too...

I use the 1.8" 3-D Duravane on most of my arrows and I shoot mostly 3-D. I have a dozen hunting arrows with 2" Blazers, I have tried mini blazers with good results. As for colour it is a personnel thing. Cheers Roscoe
