Well last week we were at Gull Lake for some camping and fishing, had a great trip, some nice weather (some not so nice) and got a chance to get out on the lake for some fun and relaxation. My biggest hope was to have my 7 year old catch his first fish and bought some tags for Pigeon for us.
Fished Gull I think it was Wednesday and I caught a nice walleye, on a 5 o' diamonds.

The next day we headed to Pigeon, the weather was lousy, windy and rainy. There were no other boats out there but we figured what the heck so we put the boat in the water and headed out until we hit the drop off in about 18 feet of water. The fishing was slow but my father in law managed a couple and my son caught his first 2!!
His first was a little too small for his tag.

But his second was right in his slot size!!

He reeled both of them in all by himself, even though the second was caught right on bottom as we were drifting towards shore to head back in, man was I proud!
Filleted and fried up the fish when we got back to camp for supper (his Nana had potatoes, fresh green beans and a salad to go with it) May be the best fish I ever ate, he was pretty proud of himself too.
Cant wait to get out again with him maybe once more before it gets too cold!
