Its too bad they put it the same date as the Pinherest Derby, most of the people I talked to are going to the Pinherest derby because it is part of the Northern Alberta Walleye Trail, one of them is going to hurt in entries???

If you're going to to the derby , there is also "The Point" , "Roland on the River" and "Norm's Walleye Camp" at which to tie up your boat ..Nice to see you all there...;)

Good derby, the Golden Walleye at shaws needs to be moved in my opinion as the time it goes is during a ''sketchy'' time of year for weather and the fact that most of the fish are caught deep and rarely survive after release...

I heard that Slave is going to a one-fish limit in 2007...I haven't seen the regs yet but was told that by someone that had them. I wonder what this will do to the tournament as it was based on a two-fish limit.

At shaws point we met with F&W and they wanted our input. As far as I know the limit is not changing.Last year it was back to 3 (2 over 43cm and 1 under 43cm).The walleye population in the lake is far from collapsed as I can attest to this. The smaller fish just need to be thinned out.Rules are not changing and I would be very surprised to see this happen...

Sheep Hunter you could be right, I got my entry for the Anglers Cup in the mail today and it states in the rules that you will have to weigh in 2 times throughout the day compared to carrying 4 walleye in the well and 1 weigh in from previous years, I like the 2 weigh ins and I think F&W will see alot better results.

The exemption for tournaments for 2 fish is under scutiny, and the priveledge might not be around long. Would anglers still fish tournaments if only 1 fish per day per angler were allowed?

I understand that they got an exemption for the two fish.
Also, there is only two fish allowed on board at a time, requiring two weigh in's, hopefully to reduce mortality.
The time of year was also made earlier to take advantage of cooler water temps, and there's rules for surface water temps during the tourney too.
Sorry 'bout not mentioning the other sites doughdoug, I just like shameless plugs for my own campsite...;)
As far as one tourney hurting another, there's only 175 entries taken here, so there should be a lot of anglers left over between the two?
Hope to see you all on the lake, Shane.
