I get some time off near the end of the month and was wondering where abouts I would be able to find some good BC fishing at this time of year. Looking for a place within 5hrs of Calgary if possible.

Shushwap, but your going to need a boat and probably down riggers. If land bound arrow lake hitting as many creek mouths as possible. Most others be tricky till temps change with the frost.

5 hrs will get you to almost anywhere in the east Kootenays between Fernie and Golden. Big lakes, small lakes, rivers and creeks, bass, perch, trout, kokanee.
There is a lot of water and country to cover there.

Thanks for the suggestions, the closer and more secluded the better. I was told sugar lake near Vernon had some decent size fish, anyone confirm?
