So i have a longbow, 50lbs @28"
My draw length is short, 24". I had it pulled it on a scale and thats 38lbs@24".

Heres the question. If i increase the brace height, will that effect my draw weight @24"?
Id like it to be over 40lbs if possible.
Or is there a rule of thumb for figuring out actual draw wieght if a person pulls over or under 28"?

The guidelines are 2-3# difference in draw weight for each inch over or under 28" and it looks like your bow is right on the 3# mark

Your bow will certainly kill deer with sharp broad heads, two blade preferred and is legal as the bow has to be 40# at 28" not at the archers draw length.

Increasing the brace height might make your bow shoot quieter but won't change your draw weight.
