World Record Alberta Fish Caught

World Record Lake Whitefish caught in Alberta this summer at Talbot Lake on Fly Rod by myself and my son's Nathan and Jeremiah .. I have the Fly Rod WR and 8# tippet record which I caught on May 26 2013 and is recorded at the Fresh Water Hall of Fame in Hayward Wisconsin USA.. and my self and my 2 son's got tippet WR in 15# and 10# for me and Jeremiah has 12# tippet with Nathan holding the 14# tippet for Lake Whitefish on a Fly Rod.. just received the certificates and recognition this week..

Thanks goes out to the FishingGeeks and TyreeUm for getting me back chasing World Records.. your trip out here Bull Trout fishing put the desire into me

Hey tippet is the line from your Fly line to your hook ..so they can come in different line strength as in 2# all the way up to 20 # for Lake Whitefish

it can be a tapered or just line strength

it can be a length of 4ft or 20' or more

they are tested at lab when you submit sample

Yes it can be tied to your flyline .I quite often run 4'of six to ten lb test" tippet" directly to the fly line when casting a sink tip or full sink line. Tippet is a common term. the ifga regs are more specific.
