Yes I agree it was not the best way to hold it, I guess he was just really excited and just wanted to show us how big it was.

I do have to speak up on this one, this is bad fish handling, the gills are a delicate structure that should not be touched. I men no disrespect whatsoever but the trout should also be respected. My dad taught me that 50 years ago.

I caught some really nice ones in northern bc where you can keep them. Man oh man bright orange like a salmon and very tasty. Scrappy fish. I will post pics sometime. Caught them on huge blue fox spinners on a ultralight in lake ( still deep water).. what a battle

X3 Sorry, I understand your Dad is from another generation and era, but handling a protected fish that way is not cool and most likely resulted in its death. It you were taking the picture, and you didn't educate him otherwise, you're also responsible.

I congratulate the admin for trying to bring some sanity to the forum...

I predict a fish pic famine in our future.....one post "suggesting" proper

Support for fish pics and hasty return to the water ...or better yet...

Stay in the net in the water.....for pic...one post ....

I particularly like the rant preceded by apology .....that makes it better ..

I wonder if a 15 post banning could set a new record...

Congrats on a huge trout , can't imagine how many cuttys he has eaten . Yes he handled the fish wrong , so we had best draw and quarter the guy , at least it said nothing about tossing it in the trees to protect the other fish ..no wonder people quit posting on here .

Hey bfish 91. Who cares what ppl say. Some die and some don't. I would be a liar if I said I have never killed a fish or netted , grabbed, released some improperly. Its all part of the learning curve... did that baby fight like heck or what?

My point was ....as in bad handling of fish..... he and lots of others. Get it now. Just be respectful of fish and animals. We all make mistakes , me included. Learn and teach that's what we need to do. Whatever ..... I'll stop posting and watching all of this BS. Good job on tagging tho keep it up. I'm done. :sign0176:

Nice picture, that's a great fish. I agree fish handling is important, but people make mistakes and those who are bashing need to put a sock in it, and enjoy the photo, your not helping anyone by bashing their photos on the internet.

Over time, we have seen a significant drop in members posting pictures due to a select few that feel the need to chastise, belittle or troll posts. Let us be the first to say that comments as such is N O T welcome and moving forward will NOT be tolerated. It is totally unacceptable, so be forewarned, we are NOT taking this lightly folks.

First kick at the cat for those who decide they know better will be instantly suspended, NO warnings, NO infractions, SUSPENDED! If this happens a second time, then we have the option to permanently banning. For those who are already treading on thin ice, we will go right to option #2.

It is a sad day that we as outdoorsmen cant share in the passion of the outdoors that we so love, be able to share in the camaraderie, journey and the excitement of the fruits of our labor. We all hope you will take this for a test drive and we encourage ALL our membership to take the leap of faith. If you as members see comments that do not share in the intent of the Ops post or decide to derail another great thread, report it if we don't see it first.

Hoping this is a big step in the right direction, now lets see those pictures :)

Read it and weep boys (girls?)
