Heading up to Cold Lake this weekend to visit the SIL and new nephew, the original plan was to bring my one man pontoon up and fly fish Ethel for pike and walleye.
But that boss has since "redistributed" the space once earmarked for my boat.
So all the research I had done into the area and where to go is out the door.
Now I am stuck trying to find a place where a guy could shore fish with a fly rod. Most of the options I researched through ifish, google maps and the forum all seem like a boat is needed to get to the fish.
I can see the beaver river on google maps, and couple of bridges where it looks like access could be gained. Is it worth fishing it?
Any smaller lakes with casting room from shore and where fish will actually be close enough to cast too?
