We were out there for the weekend fishin was a little slow. But thought it was odd that with new rules we never seen any CO's out checkin people out or even just drivin around to let everyone know they are out. Seen the very dead tag fish in the brooks bulletin guy said he went to fillet it and noticed the tag he still got his prize so what the catch release rules just for looks? Wonder if CO's will have visit with him.

They should!! CO's just don't seem to have the time for anything. WE reported a guy keeping a big old walleye from crawling valley. Took him nearly 4 hours to get there. By that time... well mmr walley was probably filleted and eaten!! On the trip back they did have a F&W checkstop setup in strathmore but buddy must have slipped through. We gave the CO'S a license plate and what not. I followed up hoping for a reward but they didn't get the guy. In all my years of fishing I have never been checked while icefishing. Open water I got checked once at CHain.

If it is a legal fish, he should be legal to eat it regardless if it is catch and release derby or not. But he should not get the $500 from the derby.
