Hi Guys,

I live in Calgary, Alberta and I have not been pheasant hunting for over 5 years now. A lot of the land I previously hunted has been highly developed and removed of most pheasant habitat. Does anyone have any suggestions on what areas are still good for pheasant hunting, and what areas to avoid? If at all possible I would prefer not to hunt on release sites.

Thanks everyone.

Yep, anywhere around Brooks, Scandia, Taber-Coaldale, anywhere in the south with Irrigation. Lots of habitat left, or in river coulees for purely wild birds. I've seen so many pheasants this year, I bet it'll be even better than last year. Don't know about partridge, they've got too much grain to hide in this year, so it's kinda hard to tell.

Thanks a lot! I will try and scout out these areas one of these coming weekends.
