Where would a person go fishing at Tobin lake?

In the river for walleye , anywhere from the dam to the entrance to the lake. For pike , the BIG part of the lake. The "flats" where it drops from 6ft to 30ft. If you've never been out on the big lake , a guide is an option or just stick with the river. The folks at Twin Marine will help to out.

What about Diefenbaker Lake? Ever been there?

Barry at Twin Marine will take you out in the new Lund ProV!!

Diefenbaker has a lot of water to fish and many miles of shoreline. My personal favourites: Horseshoe Bay (at Birsey, near Lucky Lake.) And Riverhurst. A good boat launched at Palliser will take you across the lake to the fish farm, just north of the ferry. Plenty of opportunity to catch escaped triploid rainbows near there. Also Coteau Bay near Gardiner Dam for walleye and perch. Sask. Landing hosts a walleye tournament in summer but it is a tough fishery then. Most boats travel 30 miles up lake for the big ones but like I said, tough fishery.

If you are anywhere near Big River, try Delaronde Lake for some 6-8 lbs. walleye .

Are you fishing for pike or walleye? If you are headed to the big lake for pike, I have some GPS coordinates that are sure to get you into some BIG pike!

Its a great lake! BUT it can be hard to fish. It's a big lake, so when the weather rolls in it can keep you in your camp or close to shore if you don't have a big boat. The river is FULL of dead heads so watch out when travelling from A-B. As far as fishing... Well you cant beat a lake like Tobin! With trophy pike and walleye opportunity with every cast. Its not hard to find the good walleye spots (look for the crowds of boats) But there is great walleye and pike action in the lake if you're willing to make the trek. Elk island always produces big pike on a quick strike rig, or pulling the biggest spoons or cranks you have. If you head into the flats on a calm day you can spot fish for pike in the shallow 4 - 6 ft of water. If you find the ditches and fish the 7 - 9 ft you might be surprised in the walleye ( 5 - 7lbs all day long!) The river is east to access and offers good walleye and pike fishing as well. Are you planning on staying at a resort or campground?
