PLUEGER reel repair

Where can I get my pflueger bait caster reel fixed?? The thumb release does not come back all the way when the handle is turned forward, thus line still jerks out with fish on. Then I can push it up further and the line holds. ANY ideas on how to fix or where to fix around Medicine Hat or calgary area??

What is the replacement cost?

If it were me, I would take it apart, find the offending parts, and then order them online.

If replacement cost is less than 75 or 100$, best bet is a new reel.

Yeah I would just take it apart and see if anything is broken, otherwise grease it up and put it back together and it will likely work.

Call the Reel Doctor in Edmonton and ship it up for repair? He does great work!

Sounds like the return spring is broken. You can find the schematics on the pflueger website. Probably get the part shipped to you for less than $10

Actually Reel Deal you were close on that return spring idea as it wasn't broken but just got lazy, as there was a bunch of gunk that made into the reel (dirt and what not) and his thumb bar was all crud infested so I gave it a good cleaning changed out his pinion springs they were flat aswell and that return spring to new one and the reel runs like a top!
