I posted this fish on the twin valley thread, whereas it is from PCR. Didn't want to confuse some.

She went airborne about 75' from shore and would have been released had she not rolled the line closer to shore.

44" X 23 1/2"

Well fed pike it looks like. Great job. We should hit McGregor soon when the top freezes over.

I'm going to have 100 lb monofilament between my mainline and my leader from now on. The rolling on line thing has happened no less than 3 times on these larger gals. I was thinking of creating a strap like line to make sure the rolling doesn't cut them. I don't fish with braid and wonder how many fish get sliced by it being that it's so fine.

I like 60lb mono for fairly heavy applications.

Much easier to work with and supple than 100lb imo.

I was just looking at some old fly-line that I have and it may help with subtle underwater action. 60lb sounds good too,,, either way, I need to make this change, though I'm off targeting pike for awhile. Lake Whites till freeze up and some troutin.
