Aren't the brookies spawning? Spawning fish as usually soft and stinky.

Brookies are tasty even with spawn happening. We usually caught lots when we go to mountains sledding near Golden,BC . We have great success with a small piece of hot dog and small jig.

If u get a chance try brookies in the smoker, but only if they are to big for the frying pan haha very nice pictures they look like the got some size to then. If u ever need a fishing buddy drop me a message. I love broookies!!!!!!

they were in full spawn and they were still very firm, super dark red fleshed!!!!
ps. it's taken me hours of investigation, several botched trips getting lost on cutlines, and years of experience to find a few lakes that are quality brookie spots….best advice i have is GOOGLE and go try it!!!

My Brookies should be getting done this upcoming weekend. Just the males, the females I'm trying another pan recipe. Can't wait for friend to bring the males into work from the smoker though, never had it yet.
