Snow on top, but the ice underneath it can be very slippery. Be careful.

I saw skidoo tracks last weekend as well and some guys were fishing the north end....on foot of course.

Be cautious ...I went for a little walk close to shore and I had one foot break through...I then bolted back to shore and didn't bother to check why I broke through!

And open between near the culvert in the north side.

My buddy was fishing at the north end yesterday and caught a ton of perch. Ice is walkable.

I wouldn't have to much, I'm in the same boat :)

I saw one decent sized perch last year on my camera while I was fishing for pike.

I know it stays open for a while but it's a good reminder how much the ice vary in thickness.

I've never see perch in coal.

How many FOW?

I've caught one out of there on a 5 of diamonds probably 4 years back. Surprisingly the first fish I pulled out of that lake

Ive never seen any perch either but have heard lots about the elusive little dudes. just going to have to put my time in there. i wonder how the weeds are? there probably a pain in the ass in the shallows. Every summer they get so bad its nearly useless fishing from shore. only good time seems to be winter or early spring unless you got a boat. ice conditions will be good by next week im sure. after this little cold snap any open water should be hard:)

:thinking-006:its been a few years since I've fished coal but perch were there if you could find the old chanel near a weed bank? we use to get some nice one's small spoon right on the bottom. Always were what we called "picky eaters." Maybe the low water over the last years have had an impact? Lac St.Ann sold 8 inches as of last week. Be safe:budo:
