Anyone know what ice conditons are like at Sturgeon or Swan lake? I was thinking about going to check them out sometime on my next set of days off.

With conditions as they are, I'd say that Snipe is probably froze over (haven't been there yet) but it'll be full of flood water. Snowfall from the last 2 days is over my Baffin Felt packs atm.

Going to Snipe on Sunday and will report when I get back. Hopefully we'll get some whites to bite.

Good luck on Sunday ! I've never fished Snipe but it sounds fun. I have never fished for whites either mostly rainbows. What would a guy use for the whites and are they found deep or shallow. Thanks

I've seen em down the hole in both shallow and deep water but have never been able to get them to bite. They swim right up to my hook then turn away. Gonna try using some lighter line this year and heard someone say to make sure my wireworm hangs horizontally in the water. Good luck on sunday Saltmania!

Drove out and had a look at Snipe on Sunday. South end had a ton of flood water from the warm weather. North east end at boat launch wasn't as bad. It looked like others were out but all were gone by the time we got there. we never had rubber boots so we never got to fish !!
