Anyone know if they have had the nets in here? I'd assume they have as they were in McGregor last week. Gonna give it a go on Sunday, wondering how the fishing was. Thanks guys

I have never seen commercial nets on Travers in 20 years of going there. The other lakes around it get netted but maybe new regs allows netting on Travers?
I was going to head there on Sun. if the wind was reasonable but if there was netting then i think Lost lake might be the place for some action.

I do not mind that, in Nov. the south end was still wide open and it is has been a while so the lake can settle down. I was out there 3 weeks back and had a pretty good day so looks like weather permitting there are holes to be drilled :)

Good to know! I've talked to some old timers and they told me how the fishing "used" to be on Travers. From what I hear from people I work with and the size of that mother from the derby its time to give it another chance. People I spoke too figured the commercial fishing did a number on the lake. We usually go around the bays that you fish dodger but may try somewhere else. Any tips?

I think that i am going to do the 3:00 a.m. start. Get my tent set up on the s.w. in a bay close to a drop off and see if i can get some Ling action going. Had a good late day fishing three weeks back. But this time i will hit her hard early then fish till noon drive home climb into the sack and snooze. That's a holiday :)
