I heard that Little Bow was drained down to do repair work on the dam. Does anyone know if the water is back up and if the lake is fishable? The boys was to go and hammer some pike on Saturday (if the wind stays down:sign0176:) and Little Bow is close enough to home if the day is a bust.

Thanks (in advance)

They have drained it way down but it is still fishable. I know a guy that was there on Sunday. There was only about 5fow where he fished, they caught a couple small pike but was fairly slow. Sounds like ice is a little sketchy and there is still open water.

Do you know where they went on the lake and how far they had to walk? It's just that with two little guys, walking 1/2 mile is not really an option.

They fished on the west side I assume they came in by the canal, don't think they had to walk that far out

if you do enter through the canal side bring a shovel, i did that once and holly crap the snowdrifts were hard to see and were friggen deep as hell. spent 2.5 hours digging my vehicle out, like every 10 mins i was digging.

Too funny, been there done that as well, the entrance to the road along the dam can be bad as well

Thanks for the heads up guys. I really appreciate it. I think I will be going there or Badger.

Badger was tough yesterday, light biters hard to hook. Hopefully it's better at the end of the week.

how is the ice at Badger?

Ice was 15" on north end of Badger (where RR190 meets lake), cracked a lot but we managed ok driving out 100-150 yards. There were 3 other trucks on the ice in our general vicinity while a couple other groups of fishermen elected to walk on. As always make your own decisions about what's safe to you, you always take a chance no matter how thick the ice is ;)

I'm assuming you guys were talking pike. Any action on the whites or perch?

Saw no perch or whites on camera. Just pike.

All our holes were 11 inches and about 10 inches closer to the inlet at Badger.

Sorry for the derail

last year that was also a thing i noticed was the bites were incredibly light at badger and next time i would like to bring a camera to see what the species it was.

Saw a couple whites on the camera where I was but they showed about as much interest in biting as usual ,which is pretty much nil for me! Mind you we didn't get a hole drilled until @ noon & I hear whitefish are morning creatures. Have yet to see a perch in the winter anywhere on Badger.
