T'was two nights before Christmas,
And all along the lake
Not a fisher was stirring
No ice holes did they make
Till young Cole and his dad,
Did venture out and try
The tuned up Jiffy auger
To get Burb fry
Twelve inches of ice
He found the right depth
Rigged up with glow jigs
Waited at the hole with held breath
In no time at all
A tug on the line
We lost two at the edge
Dad started to whine
Then a tug and a pull
Dad's line stretched out tight
Cole and dad fought the Burb
With all of their might
The burbs head appeared
At the edge of the hole
And dads hand shot in
As he let go of the pole
Onto the ice did mr Burb flop
Cole danced a jig
And cheered with a hop
So homeward they went
On the way they did stop
For tempura batter
And a 2 liter pop
At the house did they pause
For an Xmas snap shot
Merry Christmas to all
We got a Burb for the pot!!
