Would love to hear about any lakes in the area as i am going up on boxing for a Family outing and wondering if the ice is safe for sleds.

I was out on Garner on Saturday the 14th. Went out approx. 50 yards off the boat launch mostly due to the 2 feet of slush/snow/water I had to trudge through. At that time there was approx 6" of ice and half of that was white. Walked another 20 feet or so and the auger chewed through way quicker than I was comfortable with. In that spot the ice was approx. 4" so I didn't go any further. Never saw a single fish on the camera all afternoon... but a muskrat came up in my tent and scared the living hell out of me.

Thanks, decided to stay home and did some sledding for X-mas. I guess I will wait until January. Were you on the park side, try the north end.

Dec 31, 2013 the ice was about 14" thick. I was fishing about 400/500' off shore. ( northeast side of the lake )
I could see lots of small perch, bottom depth was around 18'.

I fished all over before Christmas and yesterday and only caught 4 inch perch. Not looking good. Not sure if it's fished out or they're hiding some unusual place. Don't waste your time. Maybe they'll show up later.

By the way patches of deep wash water with about 12 to 16 inches of snow on the lake.
