I have never caught a lake trout, and put that on my list towards the end of ice fishing season last year. Went out twice last year, and while I had a few bites, never did ice a laker. Using some tips AO members gave me, today I went out and caught my first laker!

The new MarCum worked well, even for a base model.

All in all a good day, despite only icing a few fish.
The first fish was caught in about 60', the other two in about 90'. First one was on a pink Buzz Bomb, the other two were on jigs with smelts. Weather got nasty at about 2:00 pm, left at about 3 pm when the wind and snow started to get bad.
