huns

Went out today for the first tome with my 11 year old Brittany and my 6 six year old brittany towards rockyford, came across about 7 or coveys with lots of young birds, lost my old dog for 2 hours found him a couple miles down a fence line very dehydrated and almost dead, should have put the tracking collar him.

Good to hear you got your old dog back safe.

We were out on Saturday and a field that normally produces a few coveys was coming up empty for us. At about 6:30 in the middle of the stubble Abby strikes point and we flushed the largest group of Huns I have ever seen. Must have been over 60 birds in the one flock. No wonder we hadn't seen any small coveys scattered around all afternoon - these Huns have been taking lessons from the Sharptail.

I did scratch down one bird.

i haven't seen as many this season...nowhere near a 60 hun covey.....wow

I only mention it because I have never encountered it before either. It was a first for me in 27 years of chasing the grey devils.
