Snipe/Sturgeon Ice conditions

Anyone been out to Snipe or Sturgeon by Valleyview since the heavy snow? Hows the ice? Any success?

Snipe has about 8 inches of good ice then a layer of flood water and another 2 inches of ice and another layer of flood water, not great ice conditions. Fishing was good limited out on whites and walleye and a few perch

Went to sturgeon last week. about an inch of snow then around 6-8" of water and slush then about 8-10" of ice in the narrows. Caught a fair amount of jack, but it was tough keeping the feet dry. had to shovel and pack a snow platform to fish on just so we weren't sitting in the water all day long.

Have been out on Sturgeon yet? Chris. I'll be a Snipe on Saturday to hammer the perch, have never been skunked on Snipe now that I know the secret.

Thanks for the reports guys. I plan on heading to snipe on Sunday. Haven't had much success at snipe and am just lookin for anything any where, whites, pike, Wally's it doesn't matter, any help would be greatly appreciated, location, baits, lures. Not asking for honey holes or personal tricks just a point in the right direction. I live in sexsmith and if anybody wanted to try spring lake or one island I'd gladly do the same.

Weird. My uncle just told me they were sledding on the lake last weekend the water and slush had all froze and there 2' of ice.
I'm sure he dint drill any holes though.
Mind you I don't drive, I walk since it in the narrows and close.

I wouldn't drive on sturgeon at all this year, horrible ice and it really varies around the lake.

That sign is there every year, Even if there is 2' of ice that sign is there.

should of had skates at Snipe on Sunday, could have went anywhere faster
